Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by a representative from Pamoja Tours and Travel. After a brief introduction, you will be transferred to your guesthouse or hotel for an overnight stay. Depending on your arrival time, you might choose to partake in optional activities such as a boat excursion to Ngamba Island, a visit to the nearby Entebbe Botanic Gardens, or a tour of the Uganda Wildlife Education Center. These activities offer an opportunity to acclimate to Uganda’s climate and environment, setting the stage for the exciting adventures ahead. Your accommodation for the night will be at Papyrus Guest House, where you will enjoy a comfortable stay with a meal plan covering bed and breakfast.

Day 2: Lake Mburo National Park

After an early breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park, with a delightful stopover at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe. Here, you can capture memorable photographs and participate in simple experiments to observe the unique properties of this geographical landmark. The journey to Lake Mburo National Park, approximately 5-6 hours, takes you through picturesque landscapes and charming local communities. Upon arrival, you will embark on an en route game drive, giving you your first glimpse of the park’s diverse wildlife. In the evening, you will enjoy a serene boat cruise on Lake Mburo, offering opportunities to spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Following breakfast, you will continue your adventure with an en route game drive through Lake Mburo National Park as you make your way to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, located in southwestern Uganda. The drive, approximately 6-7 hours, offers stunning views of Uganda’s rolling hills, banana and tea plantations, and vibrant rural life. Lunch will be served en route, and you will arrive in Bwindi in the evening, ready to prepare for the thrilling gorilla trekking experience the next day. Your accommodation will be at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tervan Lodge, with a meal plan that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

The highlight of your safari, gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, awaits. After an early breakfast, you will report to the Park Headquarters at around 7:45 am for registration and a pre-trek briefing. You will join other trekkers and be guided through the dense forest by experienced rangers. The trek can vary in duration from half an hour to several hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Encountering these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is an awe-inspiring experience. You will have the opportunity to observe their behavior, take photographs, and appreciate the importance of conservation efforts to protect these endangered species. After the trek, you will return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest. Your accommodation will be at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tervan Lodge, with a meal plan that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife. The drive, approximately 4-5 hours, offers breathtaking scenery and opportunities for wildlife sightings along the way. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, followed by an evening game drive in the Kasenyi plains. This area is renowned for its savannah wildlife, including herds of buffaloes, antelopes, elephants, and, with some luck, predators such as lions and leopards. Your accommodation for the night will be at Elephant Hab or Pumba Safari Lodge, with a meal plan that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Your day begins with a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, providing another chance to spot wildlife that you might have missed the previous day. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a waterway that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. The cruise offers excellent opportunities to observe hippos, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds. Day 7: Transfer to Kibale National Park

The drive, approximately 3-4 hours, takes you through picturesque landscapes and small villages. These offer glimpses of daily life in rural Uganda. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Prepare for the exciting chimpanzee trekking experience the next day. Day 8: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale

The day begins with an early breakfast before heading to the Kibale National Park Headquarters at Kanyanchu for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. Accompanied by a knowledgeable ranger, you will venture into the forest in search of these fascinating primates. Kibale National Park is home to 13 primate species, including the red colobus monkey, L’Hoest’s monkey, and the rare Ugandan mangabey. The highlight, however, is spending an hour with a habituated community of chimpanzees, observing their behavior and taking photographs.

After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch before heading to Bigodi Wetland for a guided walk. This community-run wetland sanctuary is a haven for bird watchers and nature enthusiasts, offering opportunities to see various bird species and other primates. The walk also provides insight into the local community’s conservation efforts. Your accommodation will be at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House or Isunga Lodge, with a meal plan that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 9: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you will embark on a long but rewarding drive to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park. The journey, approximately 8-9 hours, takes you through diverse landscapes, including small towns, villages, and the scenic escarpment. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Murchison Falls National Park is known for its dramatic waterfall.  Here, the Nile River plunges through a narrow gorge, creating a spectacular sight. Your accommodation will be at Pakuba Safari Lodge or Murchison River Lodge.The meal plan that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 10: Murchison Falls National Park

Your day begins with an early morning game drive on the northern bank of the park, known as Paraa. It means “place of hippos” in the local Luo language. This area is rich in wildlife, and you are likely to see giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, various antelope species. With some luck, predators such as lions and leopards. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch before embarking on a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. The cruise offers excellent opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds along the riverbanks. The highlight is witnessing the mighty Nile River force its way through a narrow gorge. This creates a thunderous roar and a stunning spectacle. Your accommodation will be at Pakuba Safari Lodge or Murchison River Lodge. The meal plan that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 11: Return to Entebbe

After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Entebbe, a drive of approximately 5-6 hours. Depending on your flight schedule, you may choose to visit the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route (optional and not included). This sanctuary is home to Uganda’s only wild rhinos and offers a chance to see these magnificent animals up close. Upon arrival
