This 8-Day Chimpanzee and Gorilla Habituation Experience in Uganda is designed for adventurous wildlife enthusiasts who want to experience the habituation process of chimpanzees and gorillas in their natural habitats. This journey takes you through the stunning landscapes of Uganda, providing an opportunity to observe and interact with these incredible primates while contributing to their conservation efforts.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you will be picked up by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the town at your leisure. Overnight at Protea Hotel Entebbe.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Kibale National Park, famous for its high population of primates. En route, enjoy a packed lunch and arrive at your lodge in the afternoon. In the evening, go for a nature walk around the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale.

Driving Plan: Entebbe to Kibale National Park (5-6 hours)
Day 3: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience in Kibale National Park
Spend the whole day with researchers and guides in the forest, observing and participating in the habituation of chimpanzees. Learn about their behavior, communication, and social structures. Picnic lunch in the forest. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.

Driving Plan: Kibale National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park (3 hours)
Day 5: Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Start the day with an early morning game drive in the park, then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Have a packed lunch en route and arrive at your lodge by late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs Lodge.

Driving Plan: Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (4-5 hours)
Day 6: Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Spend the day with researchers and guides in the forest, learning about the gorillas’ behavior and efforts to habituate them. Enjoy a packed lunch in the forest and return to your lodge in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs Lodge.

Day 7: Batwa Cultural Experience and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
In the morning, visit the Batwa community to learn about their traditional lifestyle and culture. After the tour, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, known for its beautiful scenery and numerous bird species. Have lunch en route and arrive at your lakeside resort in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Birdnest Resort.

Day 8: Relaxation and Departure
Spend the morning relaxing by the lake or taking an optional boat ride to explore the islands. After lunch, drive back to Entebbe for your departure flight, depending on your flight schedule.
