Day 1: Pick Up from The Airport to Entebbe

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda and after finalizing the formalities, you shall be welcomed by your guide, who will then drive you to your hotel. Depending on your time of arrival, you may do any optional activities in Entebbe town.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. In Murchison Falls, we will visit the top of the falls if time allows. On our way, we will visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. This is the only place in Uganda where you can see white rhinos.

 

Murchison Falls is one of the most beautiful national parks in Uganda. One of the main attractions is the Nile, with the spectacular Murchison Falls, where the whole Nile is forced through a narrow gorge and falls 60 meters. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and maybe leopards.

Day 3: Early morning game drive and afternoon launch cruise at Murchison Falls National Park

Have early morning game drives in this beautiful national park. Then go for an afternoon boat ride on the Victoria Nile up to the bottom of the falls. The boat is the perfect platform to see and photograph many different bird species. Please carry a wide-brimmed hat, binoculars, and a good camera to capture the wilds’ moments. Sights include the giraffes, buffaloes, a few lion prides, oribis, antelopes and waterbucks. After that, head back to your lodge for a sumptuous lunch before your afternoon rides.

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park

You will depart after breakfast, driving for about four hours toward Kibale Forest National Park. Kibale is highest at the park’s northern tip, which stands 1,590 meters above sea level. The lowest point is 1,100 meters on the floor of the Albertine Rift Valley to the south and covers 795 square kilometers of beautiful forest. You will have lunch from any hotel en route.

This park is popular for its primates like chimpanzees, Colobus monkeys, red-cheeked monkeys, and red-tailed monkeys. On your chimpanzee trails, they are regularly seen swinging in the forest trees and others feeding on the wild fruits.

Day 5: Kibale National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Start your day on an early chimpanzee tracking in the abundant forest. The chimps are the prime attractions in this park, despite the presence of other species of primates like red Colobus monkeys, the rare L’Hoest, blue monkey, grey mangabey, pottos, black-faced vervet monkeys, baboons, and also bush babies.

Other animals include forest elephants, buffalo, forest hogs, antelopes, and other birds. You will have a lunch break before heading to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 6: Morning game drive and afternoon boat at Queen Elizabeth National Park

On this day, you will have game drives and boat rides on the Kazinga Channel. Early in the morning, you will go with a ranger head for a game drive through the park, with magnificent views of the plains, valleys, terraced hills, and wild animals. You’ll spot animals like reedbucks, bushbucks, kobs, warthogs, elephants, lions, buffaloes, and so much more. Have a break and relax as you eat lunch served at the lodge.

 

The afternoon adventure entails a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a water stream joining Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel attracts a large school of hippos and Nile crocodiles, besides the variety of birds that flock to the reed shores like the shoebills, pelicans, kingfishers, saddle-billed storks, and sometimes the crowned cranes.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park to Lake Bunyonyi

Have an early morning game drive in Ishasha to see the tree-climbing lions. Afterwards, we will drive to Lake Bunyonyi. On our way, we will pass through interesting villages and have some breathtaking views of the mountains to Uganda’s most spectacular lake. Lake Bunyonyi ‘place of many little birds’ is undoubtedly the loveliest lake in Uganda. Its contorted shore encircles 29 islands, surrounded by steep terraced hillsides.

Day 8: Early Drive for Gorilla Trekking

It’s time to see the big apes. Today you’ll be trekking mountain gorillas. This memorable experience can take from three to eight hours depending on the movements of the gorillas. After tracking, drive back through the impenetrable forest to Uganda’s most beautiful lake. No crocs, no hippos, very safe for swimming, and enjoy canoe or speed boat tours, hiking, bird watching and lots of other activities. Relax at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort.

Day 9: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park

Set off to Lake Mburo National Park. Drive past the intensely terraced Kigezi hill slopes and stop by Mbarara town for a lunch break. Arrive at the park early in the afternoon for a boat ride on the lake or a game drive in the park.

On the game drive, there are different animals to see such as the eland, zebras, hyenas, leopards, buffalos, sitatunga, and other mammals. The boat ride on the lake is good for birding safaris for several birds like African harrier hawk, yellow-backed, cormorant fish eagles, spectacled weavers, levillant, shoe bill stork, heron, and so many more. The shores of the lake are also crowded with crocodiles and a number of hippos.

Day 10: Drive To Kampala

You will have breakfast in the morning and there is an early option for a bush walk in the park and a Kampala city tour if you have late departures. Instead of going for the bush walk, you can as well decide to relax at your lodge, take a mountain bike safari for 15 USD per person for two hours, or go on a horseback riding safari in the park for 60 USD per person for two hours.

 

After brunch at the lodge, you will drive back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport (EBB) which will take seven hours. You will be stopping at the equator for the requisite snapshot and a bit of souvenir shopping.
