Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda’s smallest national park and the closest park to both Kampala and Entebbe. If you are planning for birding & wildlife safaris in Uganda, birding safaris, or want to enjoy game viewing then Lake Mburo National Park should be a possible destination for you. Lake Mburo National Park is located approximately 240 kilometers from Kampala and only 30 Kilometers from Mbarara – the biggest town in Western Uganda.

Day 1. Travel to Lake Mburo National Park

Today after your hearty breakfast, you will be picked up to start your 3 Days Birding in Lake Mburo National Park. We shall have a stop at the Equator where you will perform a simple experiment to experience a tropical balance, have a look at the traditional drums and crafts being made, and thereafter proceed to Lake Mburo National Park, an extension of the Tanzanian plains with big herds of zebra, impala, eland, and other ungulates. Bird viewing opportunities are excellent – for birders, this is one of the best places to find African fin foot, papyrus bush shrike.

Check-in at your lodge and Have Lunch; enjoy the whole evening relaxing at the Lodge as you’re watching birds around.

Day 2. Game drive, bird watching, and afternoon boat ride

Today makes the climax of your 3 Days Birding in Lake Mburo National Park, you will be picked up to start yours. We shall have a stop at the Equator t, explore the park with a very early morning bush walk in search of animals like zebras, impalas, topis, buffaloes, elands. Bird watching opportunities are excellent here, with about 313 bird species recorded here including the rare shoebill stork, White-winged Warbler, Crested Francolin among others. After you will do a game drive as you return to the lodge for lunch before heading out for a boat ride that gives you the chance to view water-loving animals like; Crocodiles, Hippopotamus and water birds including; Fish Eagles, Pelicans, Black crake, purple Heron, Cormorant, pied Kingfisher, and the rare shoebill stork. Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 3. Travel back to Kampala/Entebbe

Depending on your departure time, you will have a relaxed breakfast, and then exit the park as you’re doing a game drive, you will have a stopover at the equator for lunch and thereafter proceed with the journey back to Kampala for your drop off hence ending your 3 Days Birding in Lake Mburo National Park in Uganda.
