Overview

This 5-Day Uganda gorilla Safari wildlife and Chimpanzees Safari is designed to take you to Queen Elizabeth national park. This is one of the most famous national parks in Uganda to encounter a variety of wildlife including the famous tree-climbing lions in Ishasha sector Kalinzu Forest making it a suitable option for the best Uganda safari, wildlife sightings, and boat launch safari on the Kazinga Channel. Later, proceed with your Uganda gorilla wildlife safari to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park for mountain gorilla trekking.

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe– Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park – Visit Kasoga community

On arrival at Entebbe airport, meet our company representative for pick up and briefing about your 5 days Uganda Gorillas Wildlife Safari and later set off to Queen Elizabeth national park one of the most visited national parks in Uganda to encountered Uganda kob, Elephant, Warthogs, Giant forest hog, Caped buffaloes, Spotted hyenas and big cats like Leopards, Lions, Genals, Civets, and Serval cats.

The drive will take you across the equator landmark with an en-route stop at the Equator Landmark to observe water experiment and to take a memorial photo with one leg standing in the northern and another one in the southern hemisphere then proceed with your drive through farms of the incredible Ankole cattle and local people working in their plantation. Have another en-route stop in Mbarara city to have lunch and later continue to the park for an evening community tour to Kasoga community for cultural experiences.

Day 2: Morning chimpanzee trekking – Afternoon boat cruise – Evening game drive

After having your breakfast, go Kalinzu forest reserve for chimpanzee trekking. Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve is a home to over 6 primate species, about 379 species of birds, 414 tree species, approximately 261 butterfly species and other wildlife species. Once you meet chimpanzees, you will have 1 hour of watching them carrying out their daily activities such as grooming their babies, hunting and jumping in tree branches. Later, return to your lodge to have refreshments, lunch and then go for your afternoon boat cruise Kazinga Channel to see hippopotamuses, crocodiles and variety of bird species.

After your afternoon boat cruise, have a short break to relax and later go for your evening game drive in Kasenyi track in search for the big predators of the park such as Lions, Leopards and Spotted hyenas since they are so active during evening hours and early morning hours, later return to your lodge to relax, dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Game drive through Ishasha sector –Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park

Wake up early to have your breakfast, check out and drive to Ishasha to look for tree-climbing lions, Elephants, Caped buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, and Warthogs among others. Have a short break lunch and later drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park home to the endangered mountain gorillas and one of the oldest forests in Uganda.

Day 4: Mountain gorilla trekking – Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

Today after having your heavy breakfast, drive to the park information offices for a briefing. This will be about the dos and don’ts to follow during gorilla trekking and later start your guided forest walk by a ranger guide to search for the giant endangered mountain gorillas. During your walk, you many encounter other wildlife species besides Gorillas such as chimpanzees, black and white colombus monkeys, vervet monkeys, bush pigs, forest elephants, many bird species, butterflies and also many others.

The time taken while looking for mountain gorillas depends on the location and movements of the allocated gorilla family. You will spend a maximum of 1 hour to watch them, take photos, follow their moves and ask your ranger as many questions as possible. Return to the starting point to pick your tracking certificate, enjoy your lunch and later drive to Lake Bunyonyi for canoeing experience the following day.

Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi – Morning boat riding – Drive back to Entebbe international airport

After having your breakfast, go for your early morning boat riding on Lake Bunyonyi that will take you to visit several islands. This Lake has over 29 small islands and each of them have it is unique exciting story so, visitng some of the most know Islands like Akampene Island which was used to punish all those girls who were found pregnant before marriage by isolating them on the island to death.

After enjoying your morning boat riding, return to your lodge to pick up your bags, check out and embark on your return drive to Entebbe international airport with an en-route stop to have lunch at Igongo cultural center and then proceed with your drive straight to Entebbe international airport to end your 5 day Uganda Gorillas Wildlife Safari in Uganda.
