Overview

Rushaga sector sits in the southern region of Bwindi national park and is the only gorilla trekking sector in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park where gorilla habituation is conducted therefore; Rushaga has the highest number of habituated gorilla families and is the key sector for gorilla trekking in Uganda as a whole. This makes Rushaga one of the four sectors in Bwindi national park which has the endangered species of gorillas in their natural environment in the whole world.

The sector has seven semi- habituated gorilla families for your habituation experience which are Busingye, Nshongi, Bweza, Bikyingi, Mishaya, Mucunguzi and Kahungye gorilla families. This therefore implies that there are just 54 gorilla trekking permits for available for Rushaga sector each day. Also, and each group must have only eight visitors per day.
