Keije Resort Bunyonyi is a 3-star mid-range accommodation found on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi, Kabale district. It’s in the south western part of Uganda close to Bwindi Impenetrable national park the home of Mountain Gorillas and 9km from Kabale town.
Keije is a rukiga word meaning “greetings” in the state of joyous welcome. The resort seats in a perfect place that is convenient to tourists and holiday makers for relaxation overlooking lake Bunyonyi.

Keije resort Bunyonyi consists of over 12 comfortable spacious cottages with a wooden deck reflecting the African building traditional style. They built with natural materials of local woods and grass thatched roofs got from the community.
All the cottages are well elevated on a raised platform and decorated with a number of amenities such as flushing toilets ,mosquito nets, bathroom with hot and cold showers, white duvets, complementary bottled water, free toiletries and many others.

Lake bunyonyi
Lake bunyonyi has over 29 Islands like Bushara island, Akampene island, Kyahungye, Bwama and Bucuranuka islands and surrounded by few terraced hillside. The Lake is known to be a place of many little birds where the name bunyonyi comes from. The lake is believed to have been formed 10,000 years ago as a result of lava flow that emerged from one of the Virunga mountains.

How to reach Keije resort Bunyonyi
You drive about 8 hours (450kms) from Kampala heading to the south western part of Uganda, to Kabale district.
You can also take a one hour flight from Entebbe/ kajansi to Kihihi airstrip or Kisoro airstrip, and connect to kabale by road. It also takes about 1-2 hours’ drive from Kigali to the resort.
