Lemala Manyara is a luxury accommodation in Lake Manyara National Park and far from the crowds, Lemala Manyara has an incredible location on the edge of an acacia woodland overlooking the lake. There are virtually no Tsetse flies in this section of the park.

All the tents face the lake and are constantly cooled by the breeze from the lake. Guests are treated to beautiful sunrises, while in the evening they may enjoy sundowners on the lakeshore. The area is frequented by wildlife including elephants, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and even lions which are sometimes attracted by the seasonal waterhole in front of the campfire.

The traditional seasonal safari camp is supremely comfortable and blends into the surroundings. Each spacious tent is fitted with large single- or king-size beds with warm duvets, wooden flooring with rugs, 24-hour solar lighting, and en-suite bathrooms with dressing areas, flush toilets and great safari showers. The mess tent is beautifully furnished with grand sofas, lamps, bookshelves and corner cabinets in old wood, chests and rugs.

It is believed that Lemala Manyara has one of the most beautiful spots on the northern circuit. Its a Luxury accommodation in Lake Manyara National Park located on a towering terracotta escarpment and offers panoramic views over the waters of Lake Manyara. The lodge offers 67 double bedrooms and one luxurious suite.

The rooms are circular, double-storey and with white rondavels. Meals are available daily in a spacious dining room that features an interior bar area and a central buffet with both inside and outside seating.

A breakfast and lunch buffet are available, while the dinner menu features a salad buffet, soup, an entrée, pudding, cheese and biscuits and tea and coffee. You can also get a romantic bush dinner on request for honeymoon couples.

The hotel also offers an eternity pool with a poolside bar for guests’ enjoyment. A tented conference room, wedding planning services, Wi-Fi facilities and a business center are also available to guest as well as a Satellite TV room.

Activities include mountain biking, canoeing and forest walks, while cultural choices include tours of the neighboring villages and dance displays by the local Iraqw and Sukuma people.

The lodge is located 130 km from Arusha and is adjacent to the colorful market town of Mto wa Mbu (Mosquito Creek) where several tribes converge to form a cultural mix that is one of the richest in Africa.

Escarpment Luxury Lodge boast 16 excellently appointed and private chalets offering double, singles and triples. Each chalet has its own private deck from which you can view the lake below you and watch wildlife as it drifts through the lodge grounds. Abundant bird life fills the trees and bushes which grow right up to your deck affording you the sense of being immediate with the natural bush of Africa while luxuriating in your private chalet.

Facilities

Wooden floors and wide windows and doors add to the natural feel and comfort of the lodge. Also, there are large beds with sumptuous linen and leather sofas in your own small lounge area. There is also a large, deep bath from which you can survey the bush and the lake. Each chalet boasts both an inside and outside shower. Imagine the glory of taking a shower under African stars as you listen to the night sounds of the bush around you. Alternatively, you can have early morning outdoor showers to the rising sun and the sound of birds waking.

Maasai culture

Wake in the mornings to the gentle sound of a wooden cow-bell, straight from the neck of a Maasai cow. Thereafter, take your tea, or indeed any meal, on your deck and enjoy sundowners as you watch the sun set. Artefacts from the Maasai culture complete the look of your chalet. Location

A stunning property with a series of rooms on stilts, set out amongst the forests to the west of Lake Manyara. As you drive down through Lake Manyara National Park there is a rapid change of environment from the natural forests in the north, to the barren, scrubby and boulder strewn regions further south. Coming over a rocky rise, you can view a virgin forest. Also, you can enjoy a cool and serene environment around the lodge.

Rooms

Each of the rooms sits at around 10 feet above the forest floor and has a large balcony running along the outside. There is also a small table and chairs in which to really soak up the atmosphere. The room interiors wonderfully bring the exterior inside with opening doors and screens that allow the flow of air. Moreover, by using luxurious fixtures and furniture, you will feel as comfortable as possible.

Layout

The communal areas of the camp also have a great little barbeque area out in front of the lounge. Additionally, there is a dining area with a small swimming pool.
